Climavore

With Climavore, the collective Cooking Sections investigates possible food production and consumption in anthropogenic landscapes and during man-induced climatic events. Results of this artistic research are also short supply chains. In Palermo, on the occasion of Manifesta 12, under the label of “pranzo al secco” (dry packed lunch) Climavore connected farmers, food sellers, restaurants, and clients in producing, serving and consuming food that requires low water supply and, therefore, is better suited to the Mediterranean environment. Climavore considers the resources offered by local ecosystems but also space and infrastructure needs, suggesting to “embrace a flexible form of eating”.
